Hello from InterContinental Tahiti! 🌴💙 This beautiful island resort — part of IHG’s iconic InterContinental brand — has been welcoming travelers to French Polynesia since the 1960s, blending timeless Polynesian style with relaxed, modern comfort. It’s the kind of place that immediately sets the tone for island life. I stayed in room 195 with a large balcony, and one of my favorite surprises was how close everything felt — I could walk straight from my room to the pool. Wake up, step outside, and you’re surrounded by palm trees, water, and warm island breezes. Effortless luxury. The resort features multiple pools, each with its own personality:�🌊 A zero-entry pool with soft sand underfoot that feels like easing into the lagoon�🍹 A swim-up bar for tropical cocktails without leaving the water�🌺 A laid-back tiki bar perfect for afternoons and sunset — One of the most meaningful experiences here is the Lagoonarium & turtle sanctuary, where the hotel supports the care and rehabilitation of sea turtles. Seeing these magnificent creatures up close adds a beautiful sense of place — and purpose — to the stay. And mornings? Not to be missed. The huge breakfast buffet is legendary: tropical fruit, pastries, made-to-order omelets, local specialties, and views that encourage lingering. Some travel dreams never lose their magic — and waking up in an overwater bungalow is always one of them. Closing out an extraordinary Windstar Cruises journey — one filled with connection, discovery, and joy — at the InterContinental Tahiti Resort & Spa felt like the perfect finale. This iconic overwater bungalow had everything that makes this experience so special: a private sun deck with two chaise lounges and a ladder straight into the lagoon, air conditioning and a ceiling fan, a soaking tub, double sinks, and beautiful island-inspired décor. There was even enough space for morning hula-hooping. My private sun deck — with two chaise lounges and a ladder straight into the lagoon — was made for morning swims, golden-hour reflections, and those quiet moments where you realize just how special this place is. I celebrated the end of an unforgettable cruise with champagne, laughter, and friends, Jana and Dawn Marie — including a very silly photo shoot in the giant tub that had us laughing until we cried. Exactly the kind of joy-filled ending travel should have.
